Prize Fund

The JCP Swansea Half Marathon organisers are excited to announce the prize fund for the 2016 event to be held on Sunday June 26th 2016.

In line with the 2015 race, both the male and female winners of the event will scoop £1000 with £500 and £250 up for grabs for the 2nd and 3rd place athletes, these prizes will be available to all British athletes.

The added bonus for the elite field will be the £1500 prize that will be won if the course record is broken. Great Britain athlete and Swansea Harrier, Dewi Griffiths holds the male record in a time of 1.06.48 and Lliswery Runner Emma Wookey holds the female course record of 1.17.51.

Technical Director Nick Francis said ‘After such a high standard of running at this year’s event we envisage that the JCP Swansea Half Marathon will attract an even better calibre of athlete to race around the streets of Swansea in 2016. Swansea Half Marathon’s ethos is to bring the best event possible to the city, and that means insuring the elite runners at the front of the field have the incentive to come and test themselves on our wonderfully scenic course. We feel that not only with the prize money in place for the top 3 competitors but the added bonus of a huge prize for the course record we will have some of the best athletes from across the UK.’

As well as the prizes for the elites, there will be prizes for each winner of the vets categories and a variety of spot prizes given out on race day.
