Front Runner Events, organisers of the Swansea Half Marathon are excited to announce Shelter Cymru as the the new Headline Charity Partner to the event. The partnership will see Shelter Cymru become the lead charity for the next two years.
Last year, Shelter Cymru helped over 22,000 people in housing need across Wales. The charity exists to defend the right to be in a safe home and tackle homelessness, through free, confidential advice and support.
Neil Davies, Regional Fundraiser at Shelter Cymru, said:
“We are thrilled to become the headline charity of the Swansea Half Marathon, particularly as this is where Shelter Cymru first began more than 40 years ago. Today, we’re a pan-Wales organisation that’s helping another person in housing need every 23 minutes.
“Through this partnership, we hope to encourage many more runners in our ‘hometown’ – and beyond – to join #TeamShelterCymru. Together, we can raise the funds we need to help more individuals and families to find, and keep, a home. Every mile matters.”

The 2025 event will take place on Sunday 8th June, where Shelter Cymru will enlist a team of 150 runners to raise much-needed funds. Participants don’t need to be super athletes to take part as the race is suitable for all abilities from beginners through to experienced runners. It’s a fully marshalled race on closed roads that takes you from the city to the sea.
